Have you ever use an camera ring light?
Is it useful? I am looking for some soft light solutions when using my camera. Does it work? I saw it is quite popular online.

The ringflash you reference is a generic model that does not communicate with your camera's TTL flash circuitry - at least I saw no mention of compatibility. This means you'll have to manually compute exposure.
I rather doubt the unit you show will equal a true softbox or other diffused lighting. It can cause circular highlights in the subject's eyes which won't be flattering at all.
I do use a dedicated macro ringflash when needed. It has 4 independently controlled flash tubes - top, bottom, right, left. Here are some examples:

Only the left and right flash tubes were used.
